General Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Himalayan Remote Adventure Pvt. Ltd. Please read these General Terms & Conditions carefully before booking any trekking, tour, peak climbing, expedition, or adventure-related services with us. By confirming a booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following terms.

1. Booking & Payment

A 20% deposit is required to confirm most trips.
For expeditions, peak climbing, and international flight bookings, a 50% deposit is required at least one month in advance.
The remaining balance must be paid upon arrival in Kathmandu and before the trip begins.

Accepted Payment Methods:

Bank transfer
Online payment
Western Union / Money Transfer
Credit card (additional charges may apply)
Cash (USD, EUR, NPR, or other major currencies)

2. Cancellation & Refund Policy

More than 7 days before trip departure: 80% refund (excluding non-refundable costs)
Between 48 hours and 7 days before departure: 70% refund (excluding non-refundable costs)
Less than 48 hours before departure or no-show: No refund

Please note:

No refund will be provided for early departure, incomplete trips, or unused services.
Refunds are processed within 2–3 weeks. Bank or transfer charges may apply.

3. Trip Alteration or Cancellation by Himalayan Remote Adventure

Trips may be altered, delayed, or canceled due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:

Weather conditions
Natural disasters
Political unrest or strikes
Health and safety concerns
Insufficient number of participants

In such cases, we will offer:

A full refund (excluding non-refundable expenses), or
An alternative trip or revised itinerary of similar value

4. Travel Insurance

All clients are required to carry valid travel insurance that covers:

Emergency medical treatment
High-altitude trekking and climbing activities
Emergency helicopter evacuation
Trip cancellation or interruption
Personal liability and loss of belongings

Himalayan Remote Adventure is not responsible for any costs incurred due to inadequate insurance coverage.

5. Health & Fitness Requirements

Clients must be in good physical and mental condition to participate in adventure activities.
Certain trips may require previous trekking/climbing experience and/or a medical certificate.
Clients must inform us of any pre-existing medical conditions before booking.

6. Risk Acknowledgement & Assumption of Responsibility

Adventure travel involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

Altitude sickness, accidents, and injuries
Extreme weather conditions
Landslides, earthquakes, and natural hazards
Delays or changes due to unforeseen circumstances

By booking with Himalayan Remote Adventure, you acknowledge and accept these risks and agree not to hold the company, its staff, or affiliates liable for incidents beyond reasonable control.

7. Client Responsibilities & Conduct

Clients must follow instructions provided by guides, staff, and local authorities at all times.
Any behavior that endangers others or disrupts the trip may result in removal from the trip without refund.
Respect for local culture, customs, and environment is expected.

8. Personal Equipment & Gear

Clients are responsible for bringing appropriate personal equipment unless otherwise specified in the trip inclusions.
Group equipment provided by Himalayan Remote Adventure must be used responsibly and returned in good condition.
Any damage or loss caused by negligence may be charged to the client.

9. Image & Media Usage Rights

Himalayan Remote Adventure may use photographs or videos taken during trips for promotional and marketing purposes.

If you do not wish to appear in such materials, please notify us in writing prior to or during the trip.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Nepal. Any disputes shall be resolved under the jurisdiction of the courts of Kathmandu, Nepal.
